What is Intergroup?

- The aims of an Intergroup are to aid the constituent Groups in their common purpose of carrying the AA message to the still suffering alcoholic and, by using their combined strength and unity, to improve and maintain good relations with all organisations in the community.

- Intergroup consists of and is operated by the AA groups in Nottingham and Leicester. Intergroup exists to provide AA services within the local area which are not practical for each individual group to provide.

Who can attend Intergroup?

We welcome all AA members to attend as Intergroup is the voice of local AA and cannot exist without support. We look forward to seeing you there - just turn up, no invite needed.

To summarise :

  • Appointed Intergroup Officers should attend all meetings
  • Each group may send a representative - the Group Service Representative, or GSR, - and the GSR's vote on any matters that arise.
  • Other AA members are welcome (in fact encouraged) to attend and join in but may not vote.
