A.A. Archives Appeal

Intergroups ongoing goal is to gather as much information and archival material about Nottingham & Leicester AA as possible. We would rather you ask us first before throwing anything away - it might be the missing link we need ! As part of our appeal we will send an annual flyer out to meetings to raise the profile of our work and request material that you or your group may have recently unearthed.

What are we are looking for ?

If it's about AA in Nottingham or Leicester and from a day gone by then we would like to preserve it. Of particular interest are:

  • Old AA literature (big books, where to finds, etc).
  • AA Memorabilia, and photos.
  • Old Intergroup reports.
  • Information on how Prison service in Nottingham or Leicester started.
  • Anything else you think may be of relevance...

If you have any archive material please contact Dean M at archives@notts-leicsaa.co.uk

What do we do with the archives ?

The archives are kept to preserve our history and show the evolution of AA in Nottingham & Leicester for future generations of our fellowship in an organised way. You can view the archives at conventions, some workshops, or upon special request.

Can you help if you have your own or a group collection ?

It is not unusual for some people or groups to have their own personal collection. In these cases your AA archivist would like to keep a simple inventory of who is keeping what, perhaps take copies, or reference them so that it doesn't get lost in the passage of time. In such cases your collection will however remain in your possession.

Can you assist the Archive team ?

If anyone is interested in helping with this project (in any capacity) it would be very much appreciated.
