2.         Actions:

The following points will be discussed in detail at NLIG Intergroup on Friday June 6th:

·         Publication of an Intergroup Newsletter including sobriety birthdays, service positions, etc. A more informal publication which would not affect Share Magazine or The Service News. There used to be a magazine published by NLIG called Linkup. HG would bring a copy to the meeting on 6th June. It was agreed there would need to be a Newsletter Committee.

·         At the moment there is a PR problem with Intergroup and so all to try and encourage people to attend Intergroup as observers. It was suggested that copies of the GSR leaflet should be available at Intergroup meetings to pass on to new attendees.

·         Sponsorship into service is vital.

·         GSR’s to travel to meetings on a rotation basis to do lead shares on the importance of doing service.

·         There is already a ‘Tradition’ Week and ‘Gratitude’ Week so why not have a ‘Service’ Week?

·         Bring back tough love and prick the consciences of those not involved in service.

·         There seems to be a common problem which is representative of society in general today and that is individualism as opposed to fellowship. The sense of being part of a community seems to be getting lost and it is important in AA to stress that we are a community who all help one another to stay sober. Service is not just the domain of a few people.

·         The location of Intergroup meetings, why are they always held at Sherwood Community Centre? Could the meetings be alternated between different venues in different areas?

·         Leave more space on Where to Find Cards for new meetings to be added.

3.         Conclusion:

The Workshop was received very well and there will be another one on Saturday 26th April in Leicester at Bishop
            Street Methodist Church from 2:30pm – 5:00pm.

£20 was collected for Tradition 7 and Heidi would send this to the NLIG Treasurer.
